Event Details

Benefitfocus is the largest healthcare and voluntary benefits software provider in the U.S. with 14,082,479 consumers, 308,574 employers, 60,528 agents and 3,563 carrier representatives live on the Benefitfocus Platform. In short, they're big. Based in Charleston, SC, they have 650 employees with many of them in their offices in Greenville. Most of the people in Greenville are software developers, but since they have been heads down developing, no one seems to have heard of them. We hope to fix that at our October learning lunch. Join us.

About our Speaker:

Greg_MonnGreg Monn is the Vice President of Engineering, Global Services for Benefitfocus, the nation’s largest provider of healthcare and benefits software.

Monn joined Benefitfocus as the 4th employee in 2000, and his extensive experience in software development and implementation has impacted almost every facet of Benefitfocus’ technology. In his current role, Monn manages the design, functionality and development of the Benefitfocus Platform, which includes benefits shopping, enrollment, billing and data exchange. He also established and currently manages the Benefitfocus Greenville office, which employs more than 75 associates.

Monn earned a Master of Sciences degree in Computer Engineering from Clemson University. Prior to join Benefitfocus, Monn worked with Navy and Air Force Messaging systems while employed at International Research Institute (INRI). Monn was also a research assistant for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center at Clemson University.

Monn specializes in Computer Systems Architecture; Java, XML, XSL and JSP programming for online benefits enrollment applications; Oracle 8.i, 9i, 10g and 10gRAC; has working language knowledge in Java, PL/SQL, XML, XSL, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, C, and C++; and application experience ranging from Microsoft Project, TOAD, JBuilder, Eclipse, XML Spy 5.0 and Quest tools.
